ABOUT ME

My interest in woodworking all started out of necessity back in 2016. My new home needed new furniture, although I could not bring myself to spend a few thousand dollars on a nice dining table and benches. Instead I decided to empty out the spare room and drop a thousand dollars in materials and tools to build my own.

Not having any woodworking experience heading into this project, I decided to turn to the internet. As I started to progress through the build I found myself thinking about the table when I was away from the shop. Constantly running over plans to fix my mistakes from the previous day, or figuring out how I can achieve the next step even though I do not have the recommended tools. Reflecting on how woodworking has completely consumed my day to day thoughts, lead me to believe that my first project will not be my last.

As I started to improve my skills with repetition, I found myself getting lost in the tasks more often. Five to six hours would fly by before I realized I haven’t stopped to take a break for lunch or even grab a drink. It was around that time is when I realized I could see myself doing this for a living.

I have been self-employed, running my own business as a Massage Therapist since I was 20 years old. This has made it a bit of challenge in taking the next step, or the big leap to go all in with woodworking. As of lately I have made a conscious decision to create a better balance between the two of them and at the same time, working towards going full time with woodworking a reality.

Over the years I have started to understand the immense benefits of a value for value system.
